Christmas in the belly!
I guess technically, this year is Joey's first Christmas, even though he's still in Mama's belly. Sorry, we didn't get ya anything, Little Man. There's always next year. Here's some photos from last night:
Lisa with her brand new iPod Shuffle a.k.a. "pod pod."

Me with my Barça gear. Lisa always gets me the coolest stuff.

Woot!
The crib is built! Joey now has a place to sleep! We got home from WWMC last night and put together his pristine, new, complete, crib! I'm just glad I don't have to drag another one home. Pictures coming...

Cribs, cribs, cribs
Wow. It’s been a real nightmare getting Joey’s crib. First, we had the fiasco from the Pottery Barn Kids crub. Beautiful crib, except for it being demolished once we unboxed it. Then we got a crib from Target two days ago. The box was kinda thrashed, so we got 10% off. We got it home and the frame was cracked.
I got another crib from Wal-Mart during my lunch hour yesterday. The lady told me the instructions were missing. No biggie, I was able to download some from the internet. Well, not only were the instructions missing, but the hardware, trundle drawer and bed posts missing. Jeez.
Crib number three is now sitting in my laundry room. I took the time to open the box and check it out while I was at Wal-mart. It appears unscathed and complete. I’m gonna build it tonight when we get home from WWMC. Joey, you better like sleeping in this crib!
I got to spend some time with the scooter club this past Sunday. We hung out at Hoppy’s and then went on a ride through some gorgeous parts of Dade County, GA. It got me thinking about when Joey will take his first scooter ride with me. I think when he’s old enough to hang on it’d be fun to go to a big parking lot and ride around. I bet he’ll look so cute wearing a little full-face helmet. Maybe I’ll even get him a little parka.

being a mama
this past month has been pretty hectic...going to florida, going to birmingham, going to florida again.
the latest trip was hard. it was for my baby shower but things never turn out exactly the way that they are supposed to. i needed some aimee time definitely and even though it wasnt tons of time it was quality.
i also got to see my william and tylere. (and joely for a little while)
i almost made tylere have a panic attack when i told him to touch my stomach to feel the baby move. sorry stewie :)
the baby is getting so big and along with him my tummy. it might not look huge but it feels HUGE!!
it's getting to where you can see his movements very clearly and you can tell that it's a foot or a leg or whatever. there is a real human inside of me growing and getting ready for life in the big world.
part of me is so ready, like i know that i can totally do this, but the other part the one that has to make sure that he is a good, responsible human being is terrified.
i'm sorta scared of being a stay at home mom. just because of the money issue. but i know we can make it if really try. lots of rice and beans and ramen noodles :) no i'm cooler than that i can make cheap food that isnt ramen.
i'm 32 weeks and 2 days. in less than 6 weeks he could come and be just fine. that is insane.
i'm excited to meet him and kiss his little cheeks. well if he's anything like i was when i was a baby they wont be so little.

Midwife Visit 05 December 2006
We went to our first real visit with a midwife yesterday. Her name was Brigitte and she was really cool. I found out that Lisa will see all of the midwives before she gives birth. I guess it's so they all know her because you never know who will be on duty when Mama goes into labor.
We signed up for childbirth classes that will coincide with our weekly visits. I hope to learn lots and lots so I can help Lisa out during labor.
I'm so glad that we are going to WWMC. I think it was definitely the right choice.
Ooh! That reminds me, I gotta go call the insurance company.

Florida Trip
We went to Florida this past weekend for Lisa's baby shower. It was on Sunday 03 December. The trip down was pretty interesting. We went down a day earlier than planned because
Pawpaw Lowe is in the hospital to have his leg amputated, so I had to cancel the hotel in Tifton and book one in Macon, GA. We ended up at this really skanky hotel in the middle of nowhere. I've stayed at worse hotels, but let's just say I wouldn't stay at this one again.
When we got up the next day we were fortunate enough to find a Dunkin Donuts in Warner Robins, GA. Oh my God, best coffee ever. If we ever get a Dunkin Donuts in Chattanooga, we'll stay here forever! Plus, we're getting Publix! This will be the best town ever. Anyway.
We got to Brandon, FL, on Thursday afternoon. We went and saw Pawpaw in the hospital and I finally got to meet Lisa's cousin Brad and his wife Christy.
Lisa got lots of really great stuff during her shower. Lots of it was stuff off our registry but some wasn't. It's all still packed up in the trunk of my car right now. I can't wait to get it out and go through it all. I don't know where all of it's gonna go in our tiny house!
