Today we did a lot of work in Joey's room. We cleaned a lot of junk out of the closet. We have quite a large box of yard sale stuff. Who knows if we'll ever have one. We'll probably get sick of looking at the boxes in the basement and throw it all away like we've done before.
We finally put away the two large boxes of stuff my mom sent us a few weeks ago. In the bottom of one of the boxers I found an envelope with copies of newspaper articles from Colombia about my great-grandfather Jesus Amortegui Pacheco. He was the founder of Colombia's first radio station, HKA, in Barranquilla. I found a copy of his marriage certificate, a copy of his marriage certificate and his provisional radio licenses issued by the government of Colombia. I even found a large portrait of him from the 1930's. I really can't wait to show it all to my Joey. I wish I had even that much about my own dad to show him. Sigh.
Well, I gotta go take more stuff to the basement. I can't wait to get a weekend where I have nothing to do so I can really clean that darn basement.
